Keynotes Provide Insight on the Nation’s Future Developments in Commercial Space Transportation
NASA Administrator Charles Bolden, Jr., Secretary of Transportation Raymond "Ray" LaHood, FAA Administrator Randy Babbitt, Gen C. Robert Kehler, Commander for U.S. Air Force Space Command, and Ken Bowersox, Vice President of Astronaut Safety and Mission Assurance for SpaceX are keynote speakers at the 13th Annual FAA Commercial Space Transportation Conference, to be held on Wednesday–Thursday, 10–11 February 2010 at the Crystal Gateway Marriott in Arlington, Virginia.
Closely following the release of the Administration’s FY2011 budget, this conference brings together government leaders, policymakers and technical experts to discuss the rapidly evolving directions and developments in commercial space transportation in the expected austere funding environment of the next few years. Combining the results of which the Review of U.S. Human Spaceflight Plans Committee with the Obama Administration’s emphasis on a budget freeze and a focus on earth observations makes this a critical time to be aware of opportunities and pitfalls within both commercial and governmental has identified as a key components of future U.S. the Nation’s space policy transportation initiatives.
This event addresses both the established and emerging commercial space sectors, including the status of NASA’s COTS & CRS activities, the future of human spaceflight regulatory developments, Augustine report analysis, and definitions of commercial space.
