Last night I attended one of the OCTANe Capital Series - Funding Sources within the Federal Government at TechSpace in Aliso Viejo, California.

April Grant of Fabiani & Company spoke about the Federal government funding available to private sector companies identifying the business opportunities hidden in the labyrinth of government programs. Stephen Conafay of Fabiani & Company was also there and helped answer questions. Very enlightening insights into the behind-the-scenes workings in Washington DC.

Also, Jack Syage, CEO of Syagen Technology spoke about his extensive experience with SBIR grants and other Federal grants. Syagen Technology designs and manufactures high speed, molecular analysis instruments for use in Homeland Security and Life Science applications. I was very impressed with Jack - he knows what he is talking about and in particular Jack was able to deliver insights well beyond that available on the internet or within a narrow experience set.
