I recognize that there is a Grants topic under "Universities" and that somewhere else on the Forum (I think through Links) there is some NIH info on grant writing.

However, I would like to hear (learn!) more about:
- How non-profit organization board members can find appropriate grant sources for their endeavors.
- How grant writing professionals can locate grant sources for clients (it is often not enough to help a client respond to a request, but the professionals are asked to locate the sources). Sources could include private foundations, public company foundations, various state and federal government agencies.

I know there are books, many of which simply churn some publicly available info. Are there any really worthwhile books, helpful websites, associations?

I realize this is a dated post. Are you still interested? A partner of mine has recently suggested we pursue this niche and we are conducting initial research. I'm starting from scratch, but would be willing to collaborate.
